Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs – but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 3/15/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Vasha is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Vasha was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no history on her. Our best estimate is that she's a goldendoodle, but only a DNA test will tell. We cannot guarantee that Vasha is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed. Weight: 35 lbs Height: 22 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Vasha is a big energetic girl who needs a yard with a four (4) foot tall or taller fence. What kind of home would be best for me? Vasha adores people and thrives when she's around them. Because of this, she does experience separation anxiety when left alone. She’s looking for adopters who are home most—if not all—of the day to keep her company and help her feel secure. She isn’t picky about her people—Vasha would be happy with a single person, a couple, or a family, as long as they’re playful and active like she is. If adopted by a family, she would do best with older children (12 and up) who can confidently handle a big, strong, and energetic dog. Vasha could thrive as an only dog, but she also has a lot to learn. She would benefit from a home with another friendly, well-mannered dog who can be both a playmate and a role model. A securely fenced yard is a must for her—this big girl needs space to run, play, and burn off her boundless energy safely. Her high energy doesn't mix well with most cats, but if you have a confident, dog-savvy cat, she may do just fine. What is my personality like? Say hello to Vasha, an extremely energetic and joyful girl who's ready to find her forever home! Vasha would thrive in a home with an active lifestyle. She’d love to join you on hikes in the woods or mountains, beach trips, jogs, or even errands—especially if there’s a chance for a pup cup at the drive-thru! While Vasha already knows how to sit, she’s still working on other basic commands like "come," "down," and "stay." She can walk on a leash, but she tends to pull, so continued leash training will be important. The time you spend teaching her will not only help her grow but also strengthen the bond between you. If you do need to leave Vasha at home, make sure she’s crated—in an indestructible crate. She’s proven she can break out of wire crates, and you don’t want her to get hurt or damage your belongings due to her fear of being alone. This sweet, happy girl is just waiting for someone to share her love, energy, and infectious joy with. If you have the time, patience, and heart to pour into Vasha, she’ll return your love tenfold and bring light into your life every day.  How do I act when I first meet new people? Vasha LOVES people. She’s never met a stranger—every person she meets is a new best friend and potential playmate! Other tips and tidbits: Vasha was born or around her 9/14/2023. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note – we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you – poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.
