Who's that girl? It's Strawberry! Strawberry is about 2 years old and is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. She loves to romp around with toys, but her true passion is eating yummy treats and enjoying cuddles with her foster family. Strawberry quickly wins you over with her darling personality and big brown puppy-dog eyes. Strawberry currently weighs around 10lbs. Strawberry came to us from a local shelter with her 5 nursing puppies. They were found as strays, and with her puppies only being a couple of weeks old, the shelter was no place for them to stay long. Luckily, we were able to rescue the family and they now are all ready for adoption. Strawberry is a happy girl who could spend all day sunbathing and eating treats if you let her. She is a great little walking partner and enjoys meeting new people and exploring new places. She loves to learn and will do just about anything for a treat. She has learned some basic manners in her foster home. She passed along her smart genetics to her puppies! Strawberry loves other dogs and would be a great playmate for another playful small/medium-sized dog. She also wouldn't mind being your spoiled-only pup. Strawberry lives with a cat in her foster home and could do well living with dog-savvy cats in her forever home with a slow introduction and proper supervision. She thinks cats are playmates, so may be too much for shy or older cats. Strawberry could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 8 years or older. Strawberry has been doing well with her housetraining. She has also been doing well being left in a crate overnight and when home alone. Strawberry  hasn't spent too much time alone, so would do best with a family who can slowly acclimate her to being home alone. Strawberry was such a great mom to her puppies and now it's her turn to be someone's spoiled baby. If you think she could be the one for you,  submit an adoption application today!   Strawberry 's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/  Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org.
