Name:   Shortcake      Best Guess for Breed: Lab mix, some other type of retriever in there Best Guess for Age:  8 months as of January 2025        SEX:   Female   Approximate Weight:  68 pounds as of January 2025; she is still growing!   Gets Along With:   She does well with other dogs! We haven’t seen her with cats or kids but she can be tested if you have them.   Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her freedom ride up here.    Shortcake is Looking For:   Her forever home! This sweetie and her sister Lolipop have enjoyed growing up together, but now they’re ready to split up and get their own humans. Lolipop has all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager for long sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures her humans can dream up. Dog school would be great, too, so she can show how super smart she is. Most of all, though, she wants to know she’s safe and loved, that she belongs in a family, for all her days. In exchange she offers her spirit, her love, adoring gazes – and intensely loyal companionship.   What do you say? Is Shortcake the one you see trotting by your side?
