To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE   Age: 6 months (as of 11/6/24) Weight: 30 pounds (as of 11/21/24) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Seymour is an unusually endearing puppy who appears to be a Wirehaired Fox Terrier mix. He is currently living in a busy foster home with an adult couple, four school age children, three dogs, chickens, and a cranky cat. He gets along beautifully with all people and animals. He is well integrated into the home and is kenneled at night or when his family is away. His foster mother reports that he got into the chicken coop once by accident, but didn't bother them, and that even the grumpy cat has accepted him easily. She also says that she is "totally in love with him and would happily keep him!" Seymour is described as an amazing puppy who loves to climb into your lap and share his toys with you. He is extremely smart and instantly stops rowdy behavior when corrected. He has had a couple of accidents in the house, but is making fast progress with his housebreaking, and has learned how to use a doggy door. Seymour is a very social dog and tends to bark sadly when he is alone in his kennel, but he is doing much better with that. Like most puppies, he enjoys jumping up to greet you. We recommend obedience training for all of our dogs, especially puppies, and it is a great way for you and your new best friend to bond. It's also fun! Seymour is a terrific young dog and will be a wonderful lifelong companion to anyone lucky enough to bring him home! An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:   Adoption Application – SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know – For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
