We assumed it was just because he was scared but when we turned him outside, we quickly noticed that he was limping. We immediately made the decision to bring him to PAWS and he went to the vet the next day. The vet stated it was an older break that was already healing and to give him crate rest and pain medicine. Pickles is on the shyer side but he absolutely fell in love with one of our newest arrivals, a beagle named Huck. As soon as Pickles laid eyes on Huck, his tail began to wag and his playful personality shined. Currently, Pickles stay with us is probably pretty boring due to the required crate rest but we're giving him toys and attention. Hopefully, he will be approved by the vet for some play time soon. All PAWS cats and dogs are current on the vaccinations appropriate for their age. Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm disease. Cats/kittens are tested (and are negative) for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis. All are microchipped (for their safety and the adopter's peace of mind) as part of the adoption fee. Learn more about our Adoption Information here and fill out an application here.
