Age: Approximately 4 years old Weight: 22 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Unknown/not tested Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Hi there! I'm Mr. Baker, and before I tell you about myself, I'd like to give you a great big hug. You didn't know dogs could give hugs, did you?! It's a special talent of mine. I like to put my front legs up on your shoulders and rest my head right in your neck. It's one of many ways I show my affection – my humans describe me as snuggly, affectionate, and a bit of a Velcro-dog. I like other dogs, but really, it's all about the snuggles with humans. And walks! Boy, do I love walks. With some reminders, I'm getting pretty good at not pulling on my leash, and I'm friendly and respectful when I run into other dogs or humans on the sidewalk. If you like to run, I would also make a GREAT exercise partner – I'll keep your pace, and I'd be so happy to be by your side! I also love to play with toys in the yard. Chase me! Although, I must admit, I am quite tricksy. Just when you think I'm about to give you the toy back – aha! I am off again. I am also proud to share that I am an excellent listener and am very eager to please and show how smart I am. I know "off" when it's time to get off of the bed or furniture, and I know "leave it" when that ANNOYING neighbor dog keeps barking in the backyard! I trot right back over to my humans. I am also very good at "sit," and I am practicing with "wait." I take treats so gently, you can barely even feel it! There are a few other important things do know about me. First, I can be a little anxious. You can tell when I'm more anxious because my legs get a little wibbly-wobbly. Every so often, I also like to find a rogue napkin that someone's forgotten about (or maybe my mom's student papers she brings home sometimes to grade…) and I like to rip it up into tiny little pieces. I don't chew on anything else or make a mess of things – I just like my little paper shreds. The second important thing is that I take guarding my house VERY seriously…my humans tell me a little too seriously. Together, we are practicing that it is okay when new people come into MY space and that I don't need to bare my teeth, bark, or act big and tough. I have never bitten anybody, but when I am anxious and thinking about protecting my space, I have thought about it. I will need a forever home that can continue to help me with this. I also take a medicine now that helps me with my anxiety – this helps me feel more calm. Once I get used to new people, oh my, do I love belly rubs and give those great hugs and show my affectionate side! Adoption Fee: $295  INTERESTED IN MEETING ME?
