Please contact Mamie Hall (mamie.hall@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet small girl ISO fresh start and love! LIL BIT NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Lil Bit Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua mix Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of March 2025 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 13.5 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven’t seen her with cats but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! We would be cautious placing Lil Bit in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare small breed dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to ensure their interactions with the dog are calm and gentle in nature Currently Living at: DC area foster home. All about Lil Bit: This incredibly sweet and snuggly girl landed in the shelter through no fault of her own. She is eager to once again have her own family – she truly is all about her humans! See what her foster has to say about her:’Oh my. Lil Bit is the lappiest of lap dogs! From the moment she arrived on transport, she has wanted nothing more than to be with me. I brought her along with two other newly arrived foster dogs into my home, where I also have two of my own dogs. She was polite and submissive to the other dogs. But the only interaction she was and is interested in is with humans. Whenever I sit down, she is right there, wanting to be right next to me (she can curl up into a surprisingly tiny bagel to fit into small places!). When I go to the door, she runs to me – she is always up for going out with me! And when we’re on walks, she becomes very excited whenever she sees other people. Lil Bit wants to go say hi to every person who passes. If anyone crouches down to pet her, her entire body wriggles and she’ll press against them, trying to slink up onto the lap they’ve created. It is just so cute to watch. Other dogs, though? She ignores other dogs of all sizes when on leash. One great thing about her – her head and face may look Chihuahua, but whatever she’s mixed with has much taller and lankier legs, and a deeper chest, so she has the strength and leg length for longer and faster trots – and those legs are surprisingly strong and springy for a ‘Chi’ mix. She’s able to handle different types of terrain and stairs easily. She adds so much happy energy to my home. Instead of running zoomies, she has those bursts of ecstatic joy where she wriggles on her back, begging for belly rubs and pets. That face of hers is just so winning – she has the best expression ever. When I open her crate in the morning, she explodes out, utterly thrilled to start the day with me. And when I’m working, she stays on a dog bed by my side, waiting for me to take a break and give her some love. Lil Bit is the most loving and physically affectionate dog anyone could want. She’s a good size – easily portable, but her leg length and youthful energy let her go many places without needing to be lifted up. She’s polite to other dogs but doesn’t need interaction with them. All in all just an all around great dog. She and her forever family will be very lucky to have each other.’ Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
