Critter Details

A FUN & LOVING FRIEND:  Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 28 lbs. Hi, my name is Leonardo!  I came to Mostly Mutts in need of a home as it wasn’t a good fit for the other dog and me in my previous home.  I’m glad MM is going to help me find my new family!  In the meantime, I’m in a great foster home while I wait for my new family to come and adopt me.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve had mixed reactions with other dogs, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet with one of the trainers and see how we do together. / Cats unknown / When recently meeting children around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts, I did not like them at all, so I should not live with kids.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster describes me as a sweet and loyal guy who tends to choose my person.  I follow my foster mom everywhere – ignoring her 23-year-old daughter when she tried to engage me … lol.  I’ve been a calm little house guest – very smart and well-behaved. I’m looking forward to being a great fur buddy! / My energy level in my foster home is 3-5.  It was reported to be higher in my former home.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’ve shown that I am a very smart guy and like treats – a good combination for some great training sessions.  So far, I know the ‘sit’ and ‘drop it’ commands and am very responsive to my name.  My former owner also reported that I know ‘down’, ‘watch’, and ‘leave it.’ / I do fine in the crate in my foster home.  I whine just a little bit, but settle in nicely. / My potty habits have been very good in my foster home, where I am on a good take-out schedule.  I don’t signal that I need to go out, but the schedule works very well for me.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I am playful and loving with my foster mom.  I love to play fetch and then lounge with her on the sofa for some great belly rubs. I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things we’ll enjoy doing together. / Once I’ve found my comfy spot, I don’t like to be moved, and I am not a fan of having my paws cleaned.  My former owner reported that I didn’t want to share food or treats – possibly with another dog, so you will want to carefully test this. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on my annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I needed a good dental cleaning where I arrived, so I’ve had that, and my mouth is fresh again! I have higher than normal liver values, so I’m on a liver supplement and will have this rechecked in early February to determine if I should stay on the supplement or not as well as Hill's Prescription i/d food.   I am looking for a wonderful home where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
