If you're interested in adopting any SGSR dog, please read about our Adoption Process and fill out an Adoption Application. Visit our website for more information, including Frequently Asked Questions. Kai is SGSR’s best kept secret, but now she is ready for her official debut! Kai is 8 years old, spayed, and most importantly, healthy, very healthy. She came to SGSR from a family who unfortunately, were getting divorced. The mom had moved into an apartment which is not a great environment for a German Shepherd. Kai has thrived and adapted well in all her previous living situations. She has always lived with other dogs (big & small, male & female) and cats. She has also lived with children, babies, toddlers and little kids. Currently, at her foster home, she lives with three (3) large dogs, two (2) small dogs, two (2) cats, a two-year-old human, two (2) llamas and a horse. When Kai arrived on our farm, she was very nervous and very anxious. She couldn’t understand why her previous mom would just leave her. Everything was so different, everything. After about a month or so, Kai has settled in beautifully. She is submissive to her pack and brings calmness. She is very protective, especially towards her little human. If you work from home and are looking for a house princess to lay at your feet and follow you around the house, Kai would be so happy to do that. Want to snuggle on the couch and watch movies? Kai would love that too. Want to sleep in on Sundays? Kai will happily let you. A walk? Count her in! Rides? Definitely. She loves to run and play with all her housemates too. Any place you go, Kai wants to be with you. Kai is the definition of a “Velcro” dog. She will let you know who she chooses to be “her person”. She attaches quickly and there is no changing it. She will not require a fenced yard if she is with you. Her recall is pretty good, and she always circles back to check in with her person. Kai deserves to be in a home with a family who will love her forever and take the time to show her the good life. She’s a very special dog. If you are looking for a beautiful, loyal, playful girl,Kai cannot wait to meet you! She will dedicate the rest of her life to you and your pack. Kai is being fostered in Locust, NC.
