Please contact Ann Marie Burns (AnnMarieB@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.squish pup seeking love!HAILEY NEEDS A FOSTER OR A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Hailey Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd/retriever mix Best Guess for Age: 3 months as of September 2024 SEX: female Estimated Weight (puppies’ weights change quickly!): 18.2lbs as of October 13, 2024 Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs and cats so long as they receive patience and proper training. We would be cautious placing her in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise. Currently Living at: D.C. area boarding facility Special Adoption Considerations: Because she is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. We would be cautious placing her in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to not leave doors open and should never walk the dog without an adult holding the leash. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.” Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. Hailey is Looking For: Hiya! Me and my siblings (Hulk, Heart, Honeybee, and Hanna) have enjoyed our puppy pile. But now we’re ready to split up and head off to our own forever homes! We’ve listed our strengths so we know what we have to offer to our new humans and I have this: Adoring gazes, snuggles, the ability to make you smile and laugh, and lots and lots of love and loyal companionship for all my days! In exchange I ask for snuggles and play time and opportunities to explore my new neighborhood – the local parks – and the world with you. What do you say? Does that sound like a fair trade to you? What My Foster Says About Me: Hailey is an adorable puppy with a heart full of curiosity and a little shyness that she’s working hard to overcome. Each day is an adventure for her as she explores the world around her, building her confidence one step at a time. As she has settled in, she is playing more and more and with the help of one of her confident doggo friends is learning that walks are perfect for sniffing new things. Despite her initial hesitation with new people and things, Hailey’s love for cuddles shines through. Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than December 30, 2024. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets. Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.
