Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet hound ISO happily ever after! FLOYD NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Floyd and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (03/30) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Falls Church, VA (6100A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)! Name: Floyd Best Guess for Breed: Treeing Walker coonhound mix Best Guess for Age: 6 years as of March 2025 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 37 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven’t seen him with kids or cats but are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopter. Currently Living at: Lucky Dog’s South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here. Special adoption considerations: When Floyd arrived in the shelter, we noticed he was pretty scared in the hustle and bustle of busier environments. He’s been making great strides but we think he will do best with ample opportunities to socialize with other dogs! Floyd is Looking For: This sweetie landed in the shelter due to no fault of his own. He’s wise and experienced, and knows what’s most important in life – having his own humans and being safe and loved and under his own roof. He’s eager to once again have his own family, to trot alongside them on those sniffy walks (that hound nose!) and all the adventures they can dream up. In exchange, he promises love and adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Can you see Floyd by your side? What Shelter Staff Say About Floyd: Floyd spent some time on the Dogs Playing For Life Canine Center campus in Florida. There, he received basic training and enrichment, and socialized with other dogs. Floyd worked on the Sit and Place commands there. He also worked on loose leash walking and sitting at open doors, waiting to be released to go out. He enjoyed playing with enrichment toys such as food-filled Kongs and food puzzles, and got to go on field trips. He enjoyed participating in playgroup with other dogs, and is mostly a gentle player. What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
