Daphne is estimated to be about 2 years old, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and spayed..  When Daphne came to us we noticed her gait was a little unusual.  She was seen by Dr. Irasquin at Garden State who advised she had a left hip luxation and healed sacro-iliac luxation with healed associated pelvic fractures.  She was clearly hit by a car.  The way she healed, an FHO could be considered, but may not yield any viable result.  As such since she walks fine, is in no pain and is just a happy little girl, we chose to monitor closely.  There has been no change in the almost 3 months since she was evaluated at Garden State, so we feel Daphne is ready to move to a permanent adoptive home, with the understanding that if there is any change in the future, the rescue should be contacted for re-visit with Dr. Irasquin to discuss feasibility of the FHO surgery which would be covered by our rescue. Daphne is a 'people' dog.  If you're looking for a playmate for your dog, she's not your gal.  She gets along fine with other dogs, but has little interest in them, she just wants to be with her people and is one of the most loving little girls to come through our foster program.
