CELINE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Celine Best Guess for Breed: Terrier type mix, some cairn terrier in there Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of April 2025 Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 45 lbs Gets Along With: Celine does well with other dogs and needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog because she is shy – the resident dog will help show her the ropes. We haven’t seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living At: Lucky Dog’s South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area after completing heartworm treatment. Special Adoption Considerations: Celine is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator – the address is at lower left! Celine is Looking For: Her forever family! She wants nothing more than to trot through the world with all the confidence of a well loved dog. Right now, though, she hasn’t seen enough of it and is shy in new places. She’s looking for extra patient and loving adopters who will help her move at her pace, and a welcoming resident dog who will show her how to dog! Most of all, though, she wants to know she’s safe and loved and under her own roof. In exchange she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Can you see this sweet scruffy girl by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
