Name:   Blanche          Best Guess for Breed:   Chihuahua mix    Best Guess for Age:   12 years as of 9/30/2024          SEX:    female   Approximate Weight:   13 lbs.   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven’t seen Blanche with cats but she can be tested. We would be cautious placing her in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare small breed dogs with their level of energy or noise.  Children would need to be supervised closely to ensure their interactions with the dog are calm and gentle in nature.  We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.    Currently Living at:  Coming soon from a Texas shelter to a DC area foster home!   Special adoption considerations:  Because Blanche is being transferred into our care from a shelter before she could be spayed, she is not yet altered. Lucky Dog will alter her as soon as possible after arrival; however, if she is adopted before she is spayed, her adopter becomes responsible for ensuring she is spayed. Her adopter may take over the Lucky Dog appointment slot.    Blanche is Looking For:  Blanche is a sweet senior who sadly found herself in the shelter through no fault of her own. She is eager to once again be safe and loved and under her own roof. One look at Blanche’s face and you can see this little cutie is sure to break some hearts with her big dark eyes, button nose, and spotted ears. Blanche will enjoy taking leisurely strolls, sunbathing by the window, and playing with soft toys. She will appreciate having a warm sweater when it’s cool outside. Belly rubs go a long way in her book.   Blanche may not move as quickly as used to but her small size will make her an excellent traveling companion. Bring along a favorite blanket and schedule some time for naps and Blanche should do just fine. What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update once Blanche arrives and spends some time with her foster. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $375, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations.
