Critter Details

Astro is a 2 year old brindle Shepherd mix; 50% play, 40% cuddles, 10% squeaky toy songwriter. He is great with all dogs and does a good job of giving unsure dogs their space. When he’s not outside on walks or running around the yard, he’s perfectly content to lay his head in your lap for an afternoon nap. He is house trained and sleeps through the night in his crate. He may whine a bit in the crate when he first goes in, but quickly settles (especially when peanut butter is involved). Astro is very treat motivated and a quick learner. He picked up “sit” and “down” and is working on “heel” to perfect his leash training. He will do best in a house without cats or other small animals. Astro is around 55 pounds and will probably fill out to around 60-65. He is up to date on all vaccines and has been neutered.  If you are interested in adopting Astro please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet’s age.   ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt.***
